I am still looking for any Sweeneys from the townland of Altavra in the parish of Killargue in Co.Leitrim.My gg grandmother, Mary Sweeney, possibly the daughter of James Sweeney and Alice McLoughlin, was born there about 1835 and in 1859 married Michael O'Rourke in St Brigid´s RC Church there and then moved to Drumkeeran, where my great grandmother was born.If this sounds familiar to anyone, please contact me.
Many thanks.

I am looking for some information on Mary Jane Sweeney. She is related to the Sweeneys who run the pleasure crafts on Loch Lomond. I am particularly interested on learning more about the man she married in the early 1900's. His name was Benjamin Bishop, my grandfather.

Ned Francis Sweeney
No. 483

My grandfather, Maurice Francis Sweeney, left Scartaglin, Ireland, in 1895. He was 21. He met my grandmother, Jennie St. Peters (believe her maiden name was was Murray) near Chicago. He had a daughter, Annie. My father, Ned Maurice Sweeney was born 5/4/28 in Waterbury CT and attended Sacred Heart. He joined the USMC when he was 17. His father died sometime before then and had worked at a brass factory and then as a watchman in Hartford. My father died in 1988. Anyone with information about my grandparents or aunt, please email. God bless and thank you.

My gggrand-father Peter Maloney (born ca. 1812) arrived in Canada ca. 1820-30). He was the son of William Maloney and PALLY Sweeney (born ca. 1780-90).
In any of the posts here, do we see the surname Pally, which could give a chance to be in the branch I am looking for.
If one of you can help me, I would be very grateful.
