I have traced my family tree from Australia back to Donegal Ireland where Edward Sweeney married Anne Crawford on 17th January, 1857. At that time I think he was 26 and she was in her 30’s. It is difficult to make the writing out.

I know they were in Australia in 1864.

I have know idea how to get their wedding certificate or do other research. There does not seem to be many indexes on line.

Thanks for any help

I am looking for some information about my grandfather, Benjamin Bishop who married Mary Jane Sweeney in Renton, Scotland in the early 1900's. They had two children, Benjamin (1901) and Mary (1907). He left Renton in the 1920's and came to Western Canada or the North Western United States. He was a coppersmith.
Regards,
Kathleen.

I am trying to find any info on Hugh Patrick Sweeney
born in March 1857 in Scotland died December 05, 1905 in Scranton, Kansas in mining accident - buried in Pittsburg, KS. He immigrated from Scotland in 1878.

Hugh married Mary Murphy who was born on December 3, 1861 of Irish parents - Michael and Mary Murphy of Barston, Scotland. Her family emigrated to the U.S. in 1865.

Hugh Patrick Sweeney married Mary Murphy on April 27, 1882 in Scranton, Kansas. They had 7 children - Edward Micheal Sweeney, Mary Alice Sweeney, Rose Ellen Sweeney, Hugh Francis Sweeney, James Henry Sweeney, John Henry Sweeney, Martha Grace Sweeney. His wife - Mary Murphy was born December 03, 1861 Barston, Scotland and died on August 13, 1940 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays, Kansas.

I am also looking for info on Edward Sweeney who helped Hugh Patrick Sweeney homestead his farm. Edward was born in 1816 in Ireland and died November 14, 1886 in McCracken, KS. I don't know if Edward was an older brother or uncle but he was the first person buried in St. Mary's cemetary in McCracken, KS.

Help this branch of my family has been very difficult to research!

Thank you in advance!
