Marcia Beck
No. 220
Hi my name is Marcia Beck. My line goes like this
Marcia Lillie md William Beck
Carol Rymer md Donald Lillie
Gloria Farina md Donald Rymer
Jerome Farina md Alyce Sweeney
Joseph Sweeney md Mary ?
I'm looking for more information on my Sweeney Family. I know his parents came from Iceland. My grandma Alyce Sweeney was born in Roxebury, Massachusettes. My grandmother said that her grandmother was killed in a fire. Which would be Joseph's wife. On the 1900 census it said he was working as a teamster.
I live in Washington State.
Thank You Marcia Beck
P.S. I'm looking for other family members.

No. 221
My g-g-g-grandmother was Fannie Sweeney,b 1830 married in Co Donegal to
Bernard Breslin,b 1816.-- Her name was probably Mary Francis as several
of her grandchildren were named that.--They emigrated about 1847 to Mt
Carmel, Northumberland Co PA---Also in Mt Carmel area was a James
Sweeney,(but a different generation) who was probably a relative of
Fannies as he is listed as a God-father for my mother Margaret Magennis
Reardon in 1901 ---and also was a witness for several other church
events for other relatives.---I am trying to find what town they came
from in Donegal, one relative says Glenties. I do not have many more
facts but maybe these might sound familiar to someone.I do have good
info on their children and grandchildren. Peg.
Edward J. Sweeney
No. 222
My name is Edward J. Sweeney III and I am from Lansdowne, PA.
My grandfather was raised in Atlantic City; the youngest of three
children. There names were Margaret, Matthew and my grandfather's name
was Edward.
My great-grandmother ran a boarding house in Atlantic City. My
great-grandfather was in the military. Unfortunately, I don't know
there names and what part of Ireland they are from.
Magi Yarbrough
No. 223
My name is Magi Yarbrough, I live in Michigan from the USA. My Sweeney roots start with my grandmother. I will start from the most current.
Katherean Maynard-Gauze husband Freelin Hison Gauze
her mother: May Nola Sweeney-Maynard her husband Thomas Jefferson Maynard
her father: Babe Sweeney hi had two wives, not at the same time. I do not know their names.
I do have a picture of him with all his children and his second wife.
I do not know the names of his children.
His parents were Guirn Sweeney and Alice Monin. Alice is his second wife. He had three
boys from that marriage. William and Job as well as Babe.
I think the father of Guirn would be John S. Sweeney.
His father was Moses Sweeney. That is as far as I know. Moses came over with some of his brothers. One returned to Ireland. Sometime my group of Sweeneys ended up in first in Pennsulvania, then Virginia an finally in Kentucky. I have head stone pictures.
Is there a chance that Christopher Sweeney was his father?
Thank you Magi
Michael J. Sweeney
No. 224
My name is Michael J. Sweeney,
My great grandfather, Edward Sweeney married Bridget Madigan Feb. 13, 1831 in the Roman Catholic Parish of Kilcolman/Coolcappagh, Limerick, Ireland. They lived as renters on an estate in Cooltomin. They raised 7 children, my grandfather Michael being the youngest. I cannot trace Edward back from 1831. Could use advice on how to do that. I understand that the Sweeney name was prevalent in County Donegal. Thank you very much.

No. 225
My name is Charlene
I live in Spain, but am from Florida
My Greatgrandmother's mother was Catherine Sweeney, whose parents were Patrick Sweeney and Mary.
Patrick is in 1850 Census of Franklin Co, Florida as having been born in 1815 in Ireland. His wife Mary, also from Ireland was born in 1817. They moved to Florida before 1842, because their son Thomas P Sweeney was born in Florida in that year. I am afraid that I don't know anything else about them. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, Charlene
Karen French
No. 226
My name is Karen French and I live in George Town, Tasmania, Australia.
I am trying to trace the family and other descendants of Michael Sweeney (Sweeny, Swiny), my ggggrandfather.
Michael was born circa 1819 in Co. Cork, Ireland. His mother was Mary and he was a brother to Bryan, John, Daniel and Margaret. This information was gained from his convict record and is the only information I have about his family in Ireland.
Michael worked as a farm labourer until he was tried in Cork on 25th June, 1849 for perjury and was sentenced to 7 years transportation to Van Dieman's Land. He departed Cork on 24th November, 1852 among 342 other male convicts aboard the "Rodney" and arrived in Hobart Town on 12th February, 1853.
Michael was pardoned in 1855. In 1854 he married Mary McQuain (McQuane) from Limerick, Ireland. She had been transported for receiving stolen goods.
Their children were Sarah, Daniel, Michael, Mary-Ann, Jack (or John), Anthony, Margaret and Honora(?).
I look forward to hearing from anyone with a connection to my Michael.
Karen.

My ancestor was Moses Sweeney who was born in 1734 near Antrim Ireland. He went to America around 1750 and died in 1813, having 13 children. My name is George D. Harris. I think that Moses' father was named Charles, or it could of been John. I would like to know Moses parents, and more information of his ancestors. Thank you.
