I am looking for information on the Sweeney side of my family. My grandfather was Daniel Sweeney from Eniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. He did some sort of work for the railway. He married Hannah Doherty from Co. Donegal. Their children were Theresa, Daniel, Con, Terrance and Philomena. Any information you can find would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am looking for information about Mary Sweeney, who was born around 1838 in Drumkeeran. She married Michael O'Rourke in Drumkeeran, Co.Leitrim on oct.10th 1859. She was my great great grandmother, and I have been unable to find any info at all about her parents, although it has been suggested that her father was Francis, and that she had a sister called Ann. Any further info would be most gratefully received.

Anna Sweeney, my grandmother, was born around 1900 and emigrated to the US in the early 1920s. She is from Glenties Donegal. Her mother was Honaro Hickey. Anna married Peter Gavigan from Adrare Donegal (although they didn't meet until working together in Brooklyn, NY) and had 6 children: Mary, John, Loretta, Francis, Elizabeth and Catherine. I am told that Anna is a relative of Daniel O'Connell, the Liberator and first Catholic lord mayor of Dublin. Can anyone help me make this connection?

Hello There

I am trying to establish my Irish ancestry. Both my parents have passed away and I have no other record except my mother's birth certificate which states:

My grandfather was: Owen McSweeney, born 1880 in Ireland

I also thought my grandmother was irish but perhaps she is not as her name is :

Eliza Annie Sexton born in Sandon?? in 1884

I shall be hugely grateful for any information or a tip as to where to start looking.

Many Thanks
